Chivonne Graff (she/her, they/them) is a Fairfield resident who has lived as an uninvited occupier on the lands of the Lekwungen peoples for 30 years. She is grateful to be part of an intentionally relational blended family. Chivonne has spent her career working in the early years’ field in a variety of capacities, currently working as a community Pedagogist with the Early Childhood Pedagogy Network. She deeply values belonging and is concerned with living in a good way with all our relations – human and non-human and creating the conditions for a just and equitable world.
Alfredo Garcia (he/him) is a Latinx Ph.D. student at the University of Victoria in the Department of Political Science. He is the son of Salvadoran refugees and a first-generation Canadian. Today, he focuses on the mental health of men and the interplay of patriarchy and masculinity in our contemporary world. His dissertation currently entitled “The Dialectics of Masculinity, Empathy and Vulnerability as Liberatory Pedagogical Praxis” examines the importance of men’s vulnerability. When he is not studying or working, he enjoys playing guitar, exercising, and making videos on Instagram.
